Current 2011-2012 Arts Residencies in the Berkeley County Schools
The Berkeley Arts Council of Berkeley County WV has created a pilot program called Arts in Education with the support of the Berkeley County Schools. This program is funded with a grant from the WV Commission on the Arts and the Eastern Panhandle Community Foundation. The program is therefore being offered at NO cost to the school or teacher.
The Berkeley Arts Council invites teachers to choose from the following arts programs, listed by category, and to contact the Berkeley Arts Council to schedule a meeting with the teaching artist. These programs allow for meaningful connections to art, history, music and language and can fulfill WV content standards and objectives. The teaching artists will be paid for their work within the classroom and supplies are reimbursed by the Berkeley Arts Council. Teachers and artists will develop the details of each program and sign a contract with the Berkeley Arts Council to complete the Arts in Education program during the 2011-2012 school year.
To take advantage of this new program, please contact Paula Frank at fiscalsister1@gmail.com or call (304) 267-2052 no later than Friday, February 3, 2012. Programs are on a first come, first serve basis and funds are limited.
